Here at sosojane jewelry we firmly believe in the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. 

This is why we are committed to treating our employees, community, and the environment with the utmost respect. At sosojane we define sustainability holistically with emphasis on the environmental, social, and economic aspects of sustainability. Our goal is to continue to create jewelry that you love and can feel good about where it comes from, while continuing to maintain fair treatment of people and the environment every step of the way.

THE CLIMATE CRISIS

The climate crisis is a threat to our global community and every step of sosojane is involved. It is crucial that we drastically reduce our carbon emissions. 

Available science and research clearly proves that climate change is happening and it is caused by humans. It also warns us of the consequences of inaction. We refuse to contribute to the world where people and natural resources are exploited. Though we are small, we know that in order to mitigate climate change and its potential devastation, every business and every one must do their part. In fact, small to medium businesses contribute to over 60, almost 70 percent of global pollution (The Green Urbanist). 

WHAT IS SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is preserving and protecting the environment for ourselves and future generations. 

We are focusing on the following actions and solutions towards sustainability:

TRACEABILITY

In order to fulfill the golden rule, and be a truly sustainable business, we need to be able to trace the impact of our jewelry every step of the way. 

We are committed to challenging every step of the supply chain and refuse to hide behind a middle man. We also incorporate secondhand and found materials into our designs. Our goal is to have 100% traceability of our product. 

SMALL BATCH PRODUCTION

At Sosojane we practice small batch production. This means that we produce based on what our customers want. In doing so, we avoid overproduction. Wholesale, retail, and large-quantity orders are made to order.
